We are pleased to inform you that we have been successful in attaining funding from the British Association of Applied Linguistics (BAAL) which has enabled us to offer two scholarships to two successful candidates presenting at the conference. The money is available to two speakers to cover travel, accommodation and/or participation costs, of up to £250.

The criteria for the allocation of the two BAAL scholarships for IPCITI 2013 are the following:

-The applicant must have had his/her abstract for IPCITI 2013 accepted (whether a paper or a poster) and express her/his interest in the BAAL scholarship via email (sent to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) proving that she/he does NOT have funding from his/her home University or Academic Institution*. Candidates from IPCITI partner universities (i.e. Heriot-Watt University, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Manchester and Dublin City University) are ineligible for the scholarships.

-Once this interest and evidence reach the IPCITI 2013 Organising Committee, the abstract review rating and report from the IPCITI Abstracts Selection Committee will be taken into account to grant the 2 scholarships.

-The DEADLINE for submitting the scholarship application via email is 30th September 2013.

*Evidence of the candidate not being funded by his/her academic institution must be submitted in the form of an OFFICIAL LETTER on the institution’s headed paper and signed by the relevant staff member (e.g. Research Secretary or Research Director) stating that the candidate is self-funded for IPCITI 2013.
